How To Pick A Pair Of Glasses That Go With Everything

Deciding to wear glasses, rather than contacts or getting Lasik can be easier for some people. Not having to manipulate your eyes manually can be a healthy solution to slight sight issues. If you have decided to become a full-time eyeglass wearer, the first thing that you will need to do is select a pair of glasses that will go with anything. Whether you are going to the office or out to a bar, you will need to wear the same glasses everywhere. Here are three tips for picking out a pair of glasses that work for all outfits and all occasions.

Go for more dressy than dressed down

If you are in doubt about the selection of your frames, go for a pair that looks more dressy than more casual. While a casual pair of glasses is fine, it can be more difficult to remember your "dressy pair" at home if they are only used every once in a while. It is also possible to change the style of your dress before you need to change your glasses. A pair of glasses that will go well with black tie dress, such as shiny black rims or horn-rimmed glasses will give you an upscale look all of the time.

Choose glasses based on eye size

When it comes to eyeglass choice, you want to make sure that the frames and the actual glass size itself do not overwhelm your face. Go with a pair of eyeglasses that properly frame your eyes and does not take over the rest of your features. This includes your nose and forehead. If you have large eyes, select a pair of glasses that do not cut off your eyes, so that they continue to look large. Large eyes being cut off can make your face look out of proportion. If you have smaller eyes, you can select a smaller round or rectangular pair of glasses that frame your eyes nicely.

Get transitional lenses

For an eyeglass wearer being in the sun can be a catch 22 situation. Your glasses getting a glare from the sun will be annoying, but changing from prescription sunglasses to your regular glasses everytime you entire the building can also be annoying. Instead, try for transitional frames that transition from dark sunglasses to regular glasses. This way you will be protected whether you are in the sun or inside of a room, though having to carry sunglasses and regular glasses on your person at all times.
